    We are adding new examples and material to the “African Stories” section of our website. There are many new short stories by African Writers and related resources.

Link:  Kwani Trust are publishers of the groundbreaking journal of contemporary Kenyan writing, Kwani? and coordinators of Sunday Salon Nairobi (http://www.sundaysalon.com/nairobi-salon) – a Prose Reading Series and Poetry Open Mic — a Poetry Reading Series in Nairobi, Kenya.         Highlights the booklet After the Vote: Five Dispatches from the Coalition of Concerned Kenyan Writers ( Nairobi, Kenya: Kwanini? Series, 2008). These are short stories by the Concerned Kenyan Writer’s Coalition on the post election crisis in Kenya in 2008. See also the Special Issue of Wajibu: A Journal of Social and Ethical Concern, 23, 1-2 (2008). The theme is ” Kenya : Redefining Ourselves” and contains stories by these Kenyan Writers. 

 

        3. New Link: The Annual Caine Prize for African Writing is awarded to a work (a short story) by an African writer published in English, whether in Africa or elsewhere.
