POLLS on African Proverbs Grow in Popularity
In August, 2008 we started our first online POLL on the Favourite African Proverbs that have been posted as “African Proverbs of the Month” on our website during a certain period. The polls run for three months and you can vote as often as you like, but only once in a 24 hour period. So far the most popular poll was on “Favourite Proverb of the Month on Animals” that had 517 votes. The winner was When elephants fight the grass gets hurt that received 191 votes.
Through the POLL we hope to engage more people on our website and to find out what are their interests and priorities as well as educate people to the importance of African oral literature. It is also a good way of sharing our experience of African Proverbs around the world. All the write-ups of these proverbs are available on our website and can easily be found through the website Search Engine.
We are now conducting our Fifth POLL that includes the six “African Proverbs of the Month” posted on our website from January to June, 2009. You are most welcome to vote.
