A Maryknoll seminarian arrived in Musoma, Tanzania to begin his Overseas
Training Program (OTP).  Before starting language school he visited a Small
Christian Community (SCC) of lay Christians.  The SCC members welcomed the
visitor warmly and spontaneously invited him to join their faith community.  The
Christians were delighted to hear about the seminarian’s life and missionary
vocation.  One woman stood up to explain that her own son after many years of
seminary training had just been ordained a priest — the first in his ethnic
group and the first in his parish.  Welcoming the Maryknoll seminarian into her
own family the Tanzanian woman said:  "For many years my son was a seminarian,
but now he is an ordained priest.  Now you can be my new seminarian son."
