============================================================

Months ago I watched the sun set spectacularly over the western hills in our
vast 1,200 square mile parish of Old Maswa in Tanzania.  The clouds seemed to
say to me "keep moving, go ahead, don’t look back."  It made me think back to
1960 when I first came to Africa with only one purpose: to evangelize, to share
with others the good news of Christ’s coming.  In those early years I could
hardly wait for the dawn to herald a new day.  Now, I have learned patience.
Now, I’m glad just to wake up!  Yet the challenges that arise here at Old Maswa
Parish are still exciting and make one anxious to get going.  Fortunately many
people are helping.  The saying goes that nothing is impossible if you can
get someone else to do it
