Regional Resource Centers in Africa

As a follow-through of the African Proverbs Project and connected to the African Proverbs, Sayings and Stories Website , a Regional Resource and Research Center for African Proverb Collection Registry (especially in libraries) and Research is located in Nairobi, Kenya. This center integrates proverb research with their existing programs. This is a network center with common goals of data collection and research promotion. Specific objectives and activities of the Regional Center are:

1. Maintain and expand its own holdings of African proverb collections and research.
2. Maintain and expand the data collections begun by the African Proverbs Project.
3. Encourage and promote proverb research generally especially Endangered Proverbs Collections.
4. Network: maintain contacts with other centers, offices, universities and interested people.
