============================================================

I pray in the Church of the Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem.  I
celebrate Mass there often with the Franciscan Fathers.  Here, Jesus took his
decision, by the grace of His heavenly Father, to accept death on the cross for
our sins.  Whenever going to pray in Gethsemane, I pass through the Kidron
Valley and pray in the grotto where the empty tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary
lies.  It reminds me that my tomb also will be one day empty.  I shall join
her.  From Gethsemane I climb often to Mount of Olives from where I look down
over Jerusalem.  That was the place where Jesus looked over Jerusalem and wept
over it.  From there one can see thousands of Jewish, Moslem and Christian
tombs. There I pray and weep because this gives me the picture of South Sudan,
where thousands of skeletons are lying in the bushes, unnoticed by the world.
