============================================================

This Christmas we thank God for the blessings of 2002.  This was
the year of the “choo” (the Swahili word for “toilet”).  We’re helping people
build their toilets because 90% of the people in the Mukuru slums of Nairobi,
Kenya do not have a toilet.  I can’t think of anything that Jesus would want
more for his people.  One of the priest prophets here made the statement. “There
are more churches than choos in the slums.”  There are Pentecostal “born again”
churches all over the place.  But all year clubs of 10 families have joined
together to build community toilets.  Now we have more choos than churches in
our slums.
