Once we were talking with a Sukuma bishop in Tanzania who said: "You expatriates
should not be writing about African culture and theology.  We Africans
should be writing."  Then the bishop paused dramatically and with a big
smile added: "But since we are not writing about our African culture, we are
glad that you are."  Now this is changing and happily more and more Africans are
writing and theologizing about their culture and experiences.
