============================================================

An amateur ornithologist, I built a birdbath behind my house in Debre Zeit,
Ethiopia.  Since then I have enjoyed watching the many species of birds in this
area.  One day as a visitor and I sat on my porch, we puzzled over the unusual
chirping we heard.  We finally concluded that the unseen bird was a rare species
of woodpecker found only in this area. When my visitor left, I went inside to
work at my computer.  I discovered that the chirping was not a bird at all, but
my computer warning me that the battery was about to go dead.
