Early on
in the Africa Region when the seminary at Makoko, Musoma was being built, Father
Paul Bordenet ordered a 90-pound anvil from England. Well, the anvil wasn’t
installed in the workshop a week when it was reported, "The anvil broke." After
Father Paul calmed down, he wrote letter to the firm whose name and address was
embossed on the base of the anvil. Figuring that this was a case of factory
defect, Father Paul asked the Herfordshire, England company if it were necessary
to send the anvil back to England as proof. "No," came the reply from the
foundry, "just send us the man who broke it."
