============================================================

    The Shona Ethnic Group in Zimbabwe traditionally performs
a ritual of a second burial in honor of the deceased person especially to
release the person from the "land of isolation" and send the person to the abode
of the ancestors. It is also called the Reinstatement of a Deceased Person. Its
purpose is to ensure that every proper procedure has been followed for the
arrival of the dead in the other world. This rite also has the effect of
strengthening the bond between the living and the dead.
