Doing mission means learning. Most importantly I’ve
learned to appreciate the dignity of the poor. One day an old woman in Tanzania
told me she could do four things equally well: eat, make ugali (stiff cooked
porridge made from cornmeal, sorghum or millet), pull weeds and birth babies
(she’s a midwife). She was proud.
And I am proud to have accompanied so many Tanzanians for
the last 10 years.
