============================================================

Maryknoll Lay Missioner Melissa LePiane is a social worker who helps in the
Grandsons of Abraham street boys program in Mombasa, Kenya.  One day LePiane was
preparing cool drinks for two dozen or so street kids who were finishing their
weekly soccer game.  A well-dressed man who had been watching the game quietly
approached the lay missioner.  “I just want to thank you,” he said in a barely
audible voice.  “I lived on the streets when I was a boy and I appreciate what
you are doing for these kids.”
