One day Father Don Sybertz was regaling his audience with some of his
experiences trying to cross swollen rivers in Shinyanga, Tanzania during the
rainy season.  He used the Sukuma proverb, The medicine for a rising river is
to go back.
When someone asked Don if he told these stories to his family
and friends he replied: “They wouldn’t believe me if I told them.”
