While visiting the Maryknoll Society House in Nairobi, Kenya I answered the
telephone to hear a serious, formal voice say, "This is Bishop Joseph Mukwaya
from Uganda. May I speak to the Maryknoll Regional Superior?"  I was excited to
be able to speak to my good friend Joe Mukwaya so I said, "Hi. Joe, it’s me, Joe
Healey." Again the serious voice came, "This is Bishop Joseph Mukwaya from
Uganda. May I speak to the Maryknoll Regional Superior?" I tried to greet him
personally, but again a third time came the serious, formal voice. Well, it was
a scam. Someone was pretending to be Joe Mukwaya and wanted to borrow money from
Maryknoll. I didn’t bite. Finally he hung up.
