Once I traveled with Bishop Christopher Mwoleka from Rulenge, Tanzania to Bukoba in the northwestern part of the country. Arriving at the local bishop’s residence in Ntungamo, Mwoleka said that he would stay with the LandRover and I should go inside to look for Bishop Nestor Timanywa. It was mid-afternoon and the whole place was very quiet. No one was around.
Finally, I walked to the back of the compound and saw a man in work clothes cleaning a car. So I went back to tell Mwoleka that no one was around except a worker on cleaning a car. When I described the features of the man, Mwoleka explained, “That’s the Bishop!”
